11 years into my locs journey, I am answering all your questions about locs. Of course, there were a few challenges but overall it's been a wonderful journey and everything I learned, I happily share with you.

Can I maintain my locks myself or do I need to go to a loctician?
You can definitely maintain your locs yourself. All you have to do is go to YouTube or even TikTok and learn how to, no, I think YouTube is better, YouTube has like really great tutorials on how to maintain your locs, there's also books out there, I think it's locs 101, how to maintain your locks, sorry, I don't know the title, but there are books and there are plenty of videos on how to maintain your locks, different ways to maintain your locs, so you can definitely maintain your locs yourself.
If you want to maintain your locs yourself, I would recommend starting easily with braids if you can do your hair, if you can braid your hair yourself, that's the easiest way to start or you go to someone who knows how to braid and then from there on, either twist your locs or look at the tutorials on how to interlock your hair, interlock the new growth and go from there.
Very simple, if you have the time and your skill, you can definitely maintain your locks yourself, even micro locks, it doesn't matter what type of locs, you can definitely learn how to do it yourself, so there's your answer.
