Celebrating Locs and Natural Beauty
As part of my upcoming exhibition BAD Hair Uprooted, I ask people about their choice to wear locs. Despite locs being the most natural way to grow African tresses long, the hairstyle is the most stereotyped in the world. Well, if you've ever doubted the power of locs, you need to watch Kim's story.
Review of the Week
This week's Review of the Week goes to the beautiful Philsha! She sent us a photo and it couldn't have made us happier. The stylish look with the cowboy hat is everything!
Here is what she had to say about the Adjustable Non-damaging Hair Cuff for Locs, Sisterlocks, Dreadlocks and Braids Classic:
"Love this❤️ I got one for my mom too and we love that not only do we share our natural hair journey together… we have a beautiful ornament for our hair❤️"
Life in Bedstuy
Besides running What Naturals Love, I love making reels about Life in Brooklyn. You can watch the latest ones here.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, October 10 at 7:00 PM with a talk from yours truly and the release of the photo book, BAD Hair Uprooted: The Untold History of Black Follicles. Please register early to reserve your spot.
