Guess the Country & Win a Keti Koti Headwrap!

🌍 Guess the Country & Win a Keti Koti Headwrap!

To celebrate Keti Koti—the commemoration of the abolition of slavery—and the overwhelming response to my new lecture, The Shackles of Hair Loss, I'm inviting you to take part in a giveaway that celebrates the beauty of our roots.

BAD Hair Uprooted is more than a photography exhibition. It's a platform for equal hair rights, connecting us through the stories our hair tells.

Today, your challenge is simple...

Can You Guess the Country?

The four portraits above were taken in one of these countries: 🇸🇷 Suriname, 🇳🇱 The Netherlands, 🇺🇸 United States, 🇷🇼 Rwanda.

Can you match each hairstyle to the correct country?

Look closely. Every hairstyle tells a story of culture, creativity and identity. Some may surprise you!

Made in Rwanda, one of a kind.

Tailor made in Kigali, Rwanda, designed to be worn in multiple ways, this special headwrap celebrates freedom, heritage and style. Whether you're dressing up for an event or adding a bold touch to your everyday outfit, it's a beautiful reminder that our roots deserve to be celebrated—not hidden.

BAD Hair Uprooted Exhibition in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, OSCAM

BAD Hair Uprooted in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Why This Giveaway?

We are connected by our roots—across continents, across countries, across centuries. My exhibition, BAD Hair Uprooted, shines a light on the beauty of natural hair while exposing the history of Black follicles being denied the basic human right to be worn naturally.

We may come from different continents and grow up in different countries, but our roots—our coils, our follicles—are entangled in the same history.

By capturing our styles, I hope we can inspire, create, and connect, giving our distinct coils the recognition they deserve.

One exhibition. Four continents. Four countries. One shared history.

So... which hairstyle belongs to Suriname? Which one to Rwanda? The Netherlands? The United States?

Leave your guesses below. You might walk away with a beautiful Keti Koti Headwrap—and perhaps discover a little more about the stories our hair has carried across the world.
