“So, Kevin, what does acting really mean to you?” I asked.
He didn’t hesitate. “I’m an expressionist,” he said with conviction. “It’s more than just delivering lines. Acting is about becoming the character, feeling their emotions, and understanding their history.”
From iconic classics to bold new pieces, Kevin’s versatility shines through. “Being in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was a game-changer for me,” he says. But he’s not one to stay in his comfort zone.

“What’s been your most recent project?” I was curious.
Kevin’s face shifted as he mentioned his latest role. “I just finished Resurrection—a play about the 1921 massacre of the Negro Walsh. Written by Anne Thompson Stretching, it’s one of the most moving things I’ve ever been a part of.”
There’s no glossing over the significance of such stories. Kevin’s passion for telling history’s most important, often overlooked, narratives is palpable. He’s not just acting—he’s preserving stories that demand to be heard.

“Oh, Martha’s Tree is a trip,” Kevin grinned. “It’s written by Victor Gombar Jr., a Brazilian playwright who spent 10 years with a circus—he’s done it all. The play dives into gender dynamics and the complex interactions between men and women. Victor’s writing is raw, even when it’s in his second language.”
Kevin’s energy was contagious as he described it. Martha’s Tree isn’t just theatre; it’s a reflection of today’s society, tackling relevant issues with flair and depth.
