Black people are the only people on planet earth who don't have the human right to wear their God-given tresses natural. The consequenses of not being allowed to wear your own natural hair have never been brought to light.
BAD Hair Uprooted, the Untold History of Black follicles aims to do just that: to reveal the far-reaching impact on physical, mental, and financial well-being.
Broadening the conversation by interviewing non Black individuals
By showcasing a perspective that has not been explored before, I aim to open up the conversation and create awareness about the privileges many people take for granted—but that Black individuals simply don’t have.
This project is about more than just hair; it’s about challenging societal norms and shedding light on the inequities Black people face in the workplace and beyond. My goal is to broaden the conversation, spark dialogue, and encourage people to rethink what "normal" really means.
