For generations, Africans were taught that "neatness" meant a shaved head and that natural hair was a distraction that needed to be cut short. On this International Women’s Day, Drs. Mireille Liong is peeling back the layers of the unspoken, silent messages this history carries.

Why do we believe our hair "refuses" to grow? Why can an invitation to wear hair naturally feel like a "personal attack"?

Join us for an intimate session as we move from the uniformity of the past to the authentic beauty of the present. We will discuss:

  • The History: How colonial standards shaped our view of "cleanliness."
  • The Healing: Moving past the shame and trauma of forced hairregulations.
  • The Care: Practical truths about growing and thriving with African follicles.
